We Really Need Your Help!

The week before the show is the crucial time when most preparations to the field take place, we urgently need many more people to help this year. Please help us if you can, on the dates listed below:

Holly Mizen, Year 5 (2007)

Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th June — Horse Show Jump Painting, Willowmead Field, anytime from 10:30am onwards. We suggest old clothes for this painting job!

Wednesday 20th to Friday 22nd June — Setting up for the Horse Show, Willowmead and School Fields, from 6:30pm onwards. Includes putting up the tents and marquees, the arenas, the stalls and a host of jobs that have to be done before Saturday morning!

Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th June — Helpers with cooking and serving in the food tent at the Show. Sunday 24th June - Clearing Up the Showground Following the show we also require as much help as possible to ensure a smooth clearance of the showground in preparation for "Party in the Park".

Sunday 1st July — Clearing Up after Party in the Park

We ask willing parents of St Nicholas School please to put your names down on the roster that will be going around the school playground at pick up time. Any time that you can spare to help would be very gratefully received. All other volunteers, please either contact Duncan Kendall via our website or the Hurst Romans Football Club website. For helpers in the food tent please contact Brendan Crawford on tel: 0118 934 xxxx.

At all times when helping, we ask people not to bring children. It's too messy when jumps are being painted and too dangerous when marquees and scaffolding are being erected.

Finally, please do visit our fabulous website for more information about the show www.HurstHorseShow.org.uk

Hurst Horse Show & Country Fayre

23rd & 24th June 2007

Alex Brown, Year 5 (2006)

We are very busy with preparations for the 2007 Hurst Horse Show and Country Fayre. With more new members on the committee this year, the show promises to be the best ever with lots of new attractions for the whole family.

On the Horse Show side, we are offering the full range of jumping and showing classes and there will be plenty of fun events and displays for all the family to enjoy. Schedules and entry forms are available on our website.

At the Country Fayre this year, we have plenty of activities to entertain you including our bustling stalls, Morris Dancers, horse and dray rides, tug of war, archery, birds of prey, flyball dogs, a Grand Draw, ferret and terrier racing, farm animals, bouncy castle, and much, much more.

We are running the scarecrow competition again this year so please do bring along your creation and enter. This year we have added a new section to the competition "Mini Scarecrows" made using wooden spoons! For further details and for competition entry forms please visit our website.

This year, we have extended our catering choices and as always our licensed bar will provide sustenance for all! Come along and soak up the atmosphere with all your friends and family. Ticket prices are £2.50 for adults and .50p for children and seniors.

Meridian TV at the Horse Show

Meridian TV are expected to send a camera crew and reporter to the Hurst Horse Show and Country Fayre to film the events. So, all you scarecrows - be ready to play your part! This will form part of a feature on Hurst, which Meridian will broadcast later in the year. They would like to interview people with interesting country skills. If you feel that you have an unusual skill or hobby, do have a chat with Katie Barton on 0118 934 xxxx.
