88th Hurst Horticultural & Cottage Garden Society Show and Exemption Dog Show
on Saturday 18 August

It’s never too early to prepare your flowers, produce and crafts for the Hurst Horticultural & Cottage Garden Society Show which will be held in the Large Village Hall and grounds on Saturday 18 August.

As usual, the horticultural, home industries and craft entries close at 6pm on Wednesday 15 August. All entries must be staged before 10.30am when judging commences.

The Dog Show will be held in the adjacent Willowmead Field and starts at 12 noon, entries will be taken on the field from 11.30am.

Children’s sports start at approximately 2.30pm and entries will be taken on the day. The Hall and grounds will be open to the public from 1.30pm. Entry fee £1 for adults, and 50 pence for children and pensioners.

Entertainment will be provided throughout the afternoon by the Woodley Concert Band. A beer and wine bar, barbecue and a tea stall will serve refreshments. There will also be craft stalls, plant sales, raffle and tombola for all to enjoy. Presentations at 4.30pm will be followed by the Produce Auction.

Watch out for the Schedules in the Village shops – there are classes for novice gardeners, flower arrangers, children, and the young at heart.

HELP REQUIRED – we are looking for volunteers to help prepare and serve the teas. If you are able to lend a hand, please contact Rita Bunyard on 934 xxxx.
