Are you ready for the Hurst Horticultural and Cottage Garden Show? Watch out for the Schedules in the Village shops - there are classes for novice gardeners, flower arrangers, children, and the young at heart.
Can you spare an hour or so during the day to help out on the day? Rita Bunyard is looking for volunteers to help prepare and serve the teas. If you are able to lend a hand, please contact her on 934 xxxx.
It's never too early to prepare your flowers, produce and crafts for this wonderful Show, which will be held in the Large Village Hall and grounds on Saturday 18 August. The horticultural, home industries and craft entries close at 6pm on Wednesday 15 August. All entries must be staged before 10.30am when judging commences.

The Hall and grounds will be open to the public from 1.30pm. Entry fee: £1 for adults, and 50 pence for children and pensioners.
The Dog Show will be held in the adjacent Willowmead Field and starts at 12 noon, entries will be taken on the field from 11.30am. Children's sports start at approximately 2.30pm and entries will be taken on the day.
The Woodley Concert Band will provide entertainment throughout the afternoon. A beer and wine bar, barbecue and a tea stall will serve refreshments. There will also be craft stalls, plant sales, raffle and tombola for all to enjoy. Presentations at 4.30pm will be followed by the Produce Auction.
