The Book of Hurst on CD-ROM

The Book of Hurst, published in 1984, has been out of print for some years and high costs rule out re-printing, writes author Henry Farrar.

However, modern technology makes it possible to create CD-ROMs of the village history, with a host of new features. Information in the book is now being brought up to date.

Interactive text and maps will be added, many more illustrations - some in full colour - will be included, and website links to relevant organisations such as the Village Society, WDC, the health centres, and local transport will be part of the new features.

If anyone would like to contribute old or new photos, interesting stories or ideas, please contact: Henry Farrar on 0118 934 xxxx.

Footpath Maps

Two new footpath maps of Hurst are now available from the District Council offices in Shute End and the Country Park at Dinton Pastures. These maps include circular footpaths around the village and alongside the River Loddon.
