WHO WANTS TO DANCE?
The Hurst Village Society annual Hallowe’en Dinner and Dance
was cancelled this year due to poor ticket sales.
This sparked off discussion in the committee
about the need for a social event of this type in the autumn.
We came to no firm decision about next year's event,
and would like to take soundings from people about future social activities.
Please call David Shapland or any of
the committee
and let us know what you think.
Do you want a dinner and dance closer to Christmas,
early in the New Year, or a spring event?
In the past there have been dinner dances closer to Christmas
and around the New Year period -
some organised by the Village Society
and others by the now-defunct H2K Millennium Committee.
These had always been successful,
but a few years ago the HVS decided to bring the dinner dance forward
to October to coincide with Hallowe’en.
Reasons for poor ticket sales this year included:
other commitments due to half-term,
and people wanted to attend other social events in October instead.
