Children's Theatre Group to Stage a Summer Show
Members of Hurst Children's Theatre Group will be staging their first show on Saturday 7 June at Leighton Park School Theatre. The new community theatre group meets each Sunday in the Village Hall to create their version of a traditional variety show.
There will be a wide selection of numbers from street dancing and ballet to songs from the musicals - there's something for everyone. It is very much the children's show and, with a little bit of help, many of them are creating, costuming and directing their own numbers such as excerpts from Fame, Thriller, and Annie.
Many of the group had their first experience of the stage acting in the Hurst Village Pantomime and enjoyed it so much they didn't want to stop. There will be two shows on Saturday 7th June at 2.30pm and 7.30pm. Tickets are on sale at £5 from the Village Shop and from Caroline Speer 0118 934 xxxx. Stage manager is Sally Pitwood, who is also looking after the technical effects, and Dorinda Palikeras theatre group founder is co-producing with Caroline Speer who is also the administrator.
