POLICE LIAISON GROUP SETS UP
The police cannot take action alone against vandalism and other crime,
they need help from residents too.
Brian Chambers, who runs Neighbourhood Watch in School Road,
is Hurst's representative on a new police liaison group has been set up to cover
Hurst, Twyford, Wargrave and district.
The first meeting is on 6th December at 7.30pm in Loddon Hall, Twyford.
Anyone from Hurst can attend the meeting and give their views on crime and crime prevention.
This is your chance to meet
local police officers
and ask questions about crime prevention and related issues.
A speaker from the
Crown Prosecution Service
will explain their role in the criminal justice system.
Meetings will be held every four months:
8 March in Wargrave;
12 July in the Small Village Hall, Hurst;
and 8 November in Charvil.

PUTTING WILDLIFE ON THE MAP
The Berkshire, Buckinghamshire
and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust
based at Theale has launched a campaign to map the wildlife habitats of Berkshire,
and is calling for people to map their villages and towns.
Local people are in the best position to identify the habitats that exist now,
and the special and distinctive features about them.
From woodland and wetlands, to gardens and school grounds,
the new pack provide a step-by-step guide to recording wildlife
including animals, birds and plants and their habitats.
There is also a section on sustainable living,
which can be used to find out how 'green' your community is.
An information pack and guide to the survey is available from
Sally Oldfield, Community Conservation Officer,
Berkshire, Buckinghamshire
and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust on 0118 930 3773.
